Death of an Artist
The artist was going to add more collage to this piece, but a couple of things converged that made him feel it was complete. Firstly, there is a good tension between the paint and raw varnished wood. Even though there is a feeling of "undoneness" that is what life is about. At least it is for the artist. There is beauty everywhere, but there is always the tension of what needs to be done, what is next, and the dreams and goals that lie ahead. This image represents those tensions.
