Somewhere Behind Me Is My Future
Death of an Artist
Many people do not understand abstract. They will look at an image like this and believe it is incredibly easy to create this kind of image. I can tell you, it is not. Firstly, the materials I am using to carry the paint are very glossy. Getting the painting to be matte takes a lot of alchemy. This material also wants to self-level. Look for the areas where there are different levels. This requires moving the paint at the exact right moment, waiting for the material to dry to the exact right level and then allowing it to move again. Look at where the paint has overlapped the images and how the images lay flat. The paper does not want to lay flat. It requires a lot of skill and patience to work with the paper as it dries to make sure it lays flat. Your 3-year-old cannot do this... But it is sure fun to let them try.
