Death of an Artist Collection
It's What's on the Inside That Counts
Death of an Artist
This is the first collage on abstract piece. Originally these panels were not meant to be works of art. They were meant to be a story that gave the viewer insight into the work of art. However, this theme and image changed the course of the show. It allowed the artist to see that these panels and the narrative were so strong that they could stand alone as works of art. It changed the course (and hindered the timeline) of the show. The artist believes that all of these images can stand alone and be interpreted by the viewer. The artist also believes that the viewer should do this through the lens of their own perspective and life experiences. Although the artist has diverged from a 30-year belief that his art should not be explained from his perspective, this show is the first time he has offered his view. However, beyond the title, he will not offer an explanation of this piece. He leaves you to interpret this on your own and hopes you will do that more than you choose not to... This show is about you as much as it is about him.
