Death of an Artist Collection
If I Only Painted Birch Trees or Portraits, Life Would Be Grand
Death of an Artist
The choices we make in life define us and can limit us. This title is a reflection of the artist's experience choosing to be an abstract painter. Having been part of galleries and watching the success of representational artists, there has always been a perceived idea that choosing different artistic paths would be "easier". This is likely a false narrative. The image shows figures making decisions, scenes of nature and of an artist creating a figure. A vignette of a grave being lowered and of a child swimming denote the struggle of choice and the unpredictable end.
