Death of an Artist - If I Only Painted Birch Trees or Portraits, Life Would Be Grand
The choices we make in life define us and can limit us. This title reflects the artist experience choosing to be an abstract painter. Having been part of galleries and watching the success of representational artists, there has always been a perceived idea that choosing different artistic paths would be "easier". This is a false narrative. The image shows figures making decisions, scenes of nature and of an artist creating a figure. a vignette of a grave being lowered and of a child swimming denote the struggle of choice and the unpredictable end.
Follow along as each new piece comes to life, leading up to the full reveal at the Exhibition on Saturday, June 7, 2025 in Calgary.
